A young tourist from Slovakia has been executed by hanging this morning in the prison of Kuala Lumpur . She had been found guilty of drug trafficking and sentenced to death .

Lucia Debnarova was the first western girl in this country who had been hanged for drug trafficking . We remember that 2 years ago Martha Sanchez from Spain was hanged in Singapore for a similar crime .

These asiatic countries are "famous" for their application of death penalty for the use or the detention of even the smallest quantities of drugs.

The girl had been arrested in the city of Kuala Lumpur after the police received an anonymous telephone call .  They found on her a plastic bag containing 200 g of cocaine .

She was then severely interrogated but refused to give the names of her accomplices

The trial lasted only a few hours and the death sentence was issued on 25th May

According to a letter she had written to her mother , her younger sister was held hostage by the local mafia . The orders  were clear : "If you are arrested and give our names to the police , we kill your sister !"

Her sacrifice saved her sister's life .....
